A pre-Census release training session to help people understand 1) what kinds of poverty, income, and health insurance data will be available from the U.S. Census Bureau on September 16 and then on September 28; 2) educated guesswork about what the data will show; and 3) ideas about important messages to include in talking and writing about the survey results.
Christian Dorsey is the Director of External and Government Affairs at the Economic Policy Institute. He is EPI's expert at translating economic issues into language usable by non-economists. He will share EPI's projections about what the new data are likely to show, help us understand the economic forces shaping the data, and explain how we can use the numbers to make the case for the policies low-income people need.
Debbie Weinstein is Executive Director of the Coalition on Human Needs. She will explain what kinds of information you can expect from the Census Bureau, when it will be coming, and how you can use it quickly and accurately.
Ellen Teller is Director of Government Affairs at the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC). She will deftly moderate the webinar and make sure your questions get answered.
